Welcome to Family and Community Services Adoption Services! We believe that every child deserves a family and we are committed to finding families for children that need a home. Adoption is a lifelong journey for everyone involved, creating relationships to last a lifetime. We are here to help you fulfill your dreams of building a future for a child and welcoming them to the family!

We are committed to the belief that every child deserves to thrive in a nurturing and permanent family. Whether you choose domestic adoption or international adoption, we strive to provide opportunities for children to be adopted into loving families that have demonstrated physical and emotional health, and agree to comply with our policies and governing laws. We are a Council on Accreditation agency, licensed in both Michigan and Ohio. We also network with adoption agencies, adoption facilitators and attorneys throughout the United States.

Selecting the adoption professionals to work with as you travel through the journey of adoption is an extremely important decision. We can provide you with information about adoption in general and our specific services offered. All of the included resources are important and we hope you will carefully review it, but we believe that, from the few facts listed below, you will agree that F&CS can provide you with all or part of the services you need to successfully adopt.

We are a multi-service adoption agency, providing services since 1982 in the following areas:

  • International adoption programs
  • Domestic adoption opportunities – infants and older/waiting children
  • Birth parent counseling and assistance with adoption planning
  • Networks with other agencies and adoption professionals to provide maximum opportunities for children in need of families and families seeking to adopt
  • Experience with interstate adoptions – processing adoptions of infants as well as children in the foster care system throughout the U.S.
  • Authorized by the Council on Accreditation
  • Member of the National Council on Adoption

*Additional information is available upon request to F&CS: the number of adoption placements per year for the prior three years; the number and percentage of those placements that remain intact, are disrupted, or have been dissolved; the number of parents who apply to adopt on a yearly basis, based on data for the prior three years; and the number of children eligible for adoption and awaiting an adoptive placement referral.
